I tried an easy-out at first but the set screw wouldn't budge. Luckily I found this video. It took almost an hour to drill out my screw but it finally worked. Thanks for posting this video.

Drilling out the setscrew is a rookie move. Over drill and you will be calling a plumber. Simply use a cut off wheel on a dremel to cut a slot in the set screw. Then use a screwdriver to back it out. It works because I've done it.

1:32 #1 cause of water back siphoning are fire truck pumps pulling water from a plug. Contaminating the public water supply with yard chemicals like roundup and fertilizers is the concern, not sewage. It also allows the firetruck to draw more water to fight a fire because the anti-siphon will close the pumps are not sucking air from everybody’s yards. You might feel different about it if it’s your house on fire.

I'm not mechanically inclined. However, after watching this video I decided to go it alone and bypass paying a plumber. Following the instructions worked like a charm. Thanks for helping me save $$. 👍

In my OSHA30 class there was a case we discussed about a dude that died from arsenic poisoning. He had a bottle of pesticide hooked up to his hose spraying his yard. Since it was hot out, eventually he went inside and had a cold glass of water from the tap...he didn't know there was a fire 2 blocks away, and the use of the hydrants caused backflow conditions. The pesticide got sucked into his potable system, and it killed him. I'm sure it doesn't happen very often. It can happen though. I'm glad backflow prevention is taken more seriously nowadays

If you spray insecticide, or fertilizer with you hose in yard,you need a blocker on it,if not the posion will be sucked in the house!YOUR DRINKING WATER, WAKE UP DUDE....

What could be wrong? I have water leaking from the outside copper line that runs into the float valve, where the nut attaches the copper line to the float valve on the outside of the cooler.

What if all those work but still no cold

I don’t have a set screw, it’s completely smooth and leaks like crazy. How do I remove it?! I have little hands, I’m not strong, I don’t have someone else to help and I can’t afford to hire someone. Also, did you somehow turn off the water somewhere else before you started this? If I unscrew the handle, water comes out

I can see only - ONE - PROBLEM REMOVING THE ANTI SYPHONING DEVICE. "IT IS ILLEGAL TO TEMOVE IT ! " And by the same token as having insurance, you don't need it.. until you do... and if by any chance, Your "no antisiphoning" spigot can be traced to be the source of some kind of locally spreaded water borne disease... hey ! you are in for a very fun, expensive and long LEGAL PROCESS... You can definitely remove those set screws, it's just an absolutely terrible Idea to try to remove a small fragile rusted screw with an impact driver. You need slow constant force, the exact opposite of what you did

Are you an Rv Technician ? Because you are supposed to use Ice water to test THermistors. and Touching the cooling unit and seeing if it is warm does not mean it is working, it can be crystalized and not cooling and still have a warm cooling unit. Heating Element not a coil. And By Flue do you mean Burner ?

What if my rv WONT TURN OFF. We unplugged fuses, pressed the off button for 8+ seconds, flipped the switch outside the rv, and tried turning it off in different settings (lp, ac, au)

My method, grab a hack saw and make a cut down eacb side of the back flow preventer until you hit the thread cuts, then take a flat blade screwdriver and open the cut, the brass will give, at this point the valve will comer off easily. Take you time and pay attention to what you are doing and you won’t damage the threads. At this point I’ll dress the threads with a thread die made for hose bibs.

In outside access door, my fridge looks identical to yours. The cooling unit heats up in AC and propane modes and the cooling unit is warm but the fridge does not cool down at all.

Ok Hopefully, even though this was done 8 yrs ago, you still see comments. I have a similar issue with my kitchen grey water tank right at the outlet. It goes pretty much directly into the stab valve and that area is where the leak is. Problem here is the dealer/shop that sold us the unit "fixed" the issue about 5 or 6 years ago and now it is leaking again. I've tried to remover their materials that were not adhering to the tank. But, the closer I get to the outlet, the thicker their patching goo gets. I'm now concerned that I can't get their mess off to have a clean start at sealing the original crack. Any suggestions?

I use a 2 gallon RO tank as a accumulator tank for my camper Van water system and water heater expansion tank it's on the cold water side right after my seaflow 42 series water pump I use all stainless steel braided lines and threaded fittings and plastic tees and brass fittings too

It was sooo hard to find a regular hose bib without the stupid silcock or anti siphon components. Mine just stopped working completely and I had to order a standard bib online and I put a shutoff valve at the connection to main water supply so if it gets extremely cold I’m fine it’s not going to freeze the line 10 inches into the house. Pain in my ass I freaking hate the damn anti siphon or silcock bibs at least it’s out of my life 🙌🏽

How would this type of repair work for a crack that comes down the side and to the bottom of the black water tank? How big of a crack can you repair using this method?
